Hey,

I use qmail-ldap and it supports this scenario very nicely.

I have 2 MX's for my domains and an internal mail server. The internal
server is not listed as an MX. All three have qmail scanner with sa and
a couple of virus scanners.

Using qmail-ldap, you can set a mailHost variable in LDAP. The mail is
accepted by one of the MX's and forwarded to the mailstore server using
QMQPD. QMQPD delivers directly into the queue of the mailHost. This
avoids scanning the mail again on the mailHost.

This works because qmail-scanner is attached to the SMTP listener using
the QMAILQUEUE variable -- QMQPD does not use this.

I'm pretty sure there are some tarpit patches to prevent more than 20
recipients. I think there may even be one built into the qmail-ldap
patch.

Check http://lifewithqmail.org/ldap for more info.

Out.

Subject: [Qmail-scanner-general]qmail gateway + limiting the recipients

hi all

i need to put qmail has a gateway it will be relaying email to another
server:

qmaildmz(qmail-scaner here) ------> storgeserver

I want to know if qmail-scanner works in this case where there is no
local
delivery, and where qmail is just routing messages.

I also want to know if it is a way to limit the number of recipients,
for
example limit the number of recipients to 20 so that no one can send
mail
to more than 20 people at the same time.

regards.
