Bugfix release 1.16 is now out. Download from http://qmail-scanner.sourceforge.net/ as usual. Let me know of any problems.
And yes - this time I checked - there is a TAB in the quarantine-attachments.txt file ;-) As always, only new installs get that file, so existing installs should *CHECK* that file to see if there are any rules in there they'd like to have. Changes: * Changes some occurances of rename to link due to recent discussions on how OpenBSD handles PIDs... * Buglet in detection code in configure fixed. Thanks to Ted Behling * Added SoBig to the list of viruses that shouldn't generate an alert to the sender. * Altered error messages when virus scanners crash to more pointedly suggest that people should check their memory sizing... Thanks to Rick Romero for the suggestion * Now checks for comments within mail header names. Some viruses are shoving comments in them to make AV systems miss them... * Documented problem with vpopmail not reading the tcpserver SMTP rules correctly. * Updated RAV support. Newer versions now exit status 1 when no virus found - go figure! * Put more sanity checks in the SA return values. Looks like people are running all sorts of broken SA installs out there... v1.17 is already in testing. This one introduces new facists MIME checks in order to beat some of those nasty Outlook bugs early on... [why is it always Outlook - gee, I wonder...] -- Cheers Jason Haar Information Security Manager, Trimble Navigation Ltd.
