Presumably your point is that the receiving MTA would try to VRFY the address and bounce upon failure. VRFY is pointless, since almost no SMTP servers allow address verification short of delivering a message. As an example, my sendmail server returns the same status code (252) for all VRFY requests. My qmail server returns the same code and says "send some mail, I'll try my best".

All you can realistically do to verify a sender's address are DNS lookups.
