Hello, I am sorry if this is a question that has been asked before. I have looked through the list archives, but did not find an answer to my question....
In the headers of my email messages is the contents of the qmail-scanner-queue-version.txt file. This would be fine, except for the fact that the contents of the file are quite long. I have had some users complain because they do not like scrolling through the headers to get to the messages. Here is the contents of the qmail-scanner-queue-version.txt file: ============== hbedv: 6.14.0.1. hbedv: operating system: OpenBSD. hbedv: product version: 2.0. 3. hbedv: engine version: 6.14.0.1. hbedv: packlib version: 2.0.0.3 (supports 18 formats). hbedv: vdf version: 6.14.0.15 (66729 known viruses). hbedv: . hbedv: product: AntiVir Server. hbedv: key file: hbedv.key. hb edv: registered user: DR Ware, somewhereville. hbedv: serial number: ####. hbedv: key expires: 31 Mar 2003. hbedv: run mode: COMMERCIAL. hbed v: . hbedv: product: AntiVir Workstation. hbedv: key file: hbed v.key. hbedv: registered user: DR Ware, somerwhereville. hbedv: serial number: #### . hbedv: key expires: 31 Mar 2003. hbedv: run mode: COMMERC IAL. hbedv: . hbedv: product: AntiVir MailGate. hbedv: key file: hbedv.key. hbedv: registered user: DR Ware, somewhereville. hbedv: serial number: ####. hbedv: key expires: 31 Mar 2003. hbedv: run mode: C OMMERCIAL. hbedv: . hbedv: product: AntiVir (command line scanner). hbe dv: key file: hbedv.key. hbedv: registered user: DR Ware, somewhereville. h bedv: serial number: ####. hbedv: key expires: 31 Mar 2003. hbedv: run mode: COMMERCIAL. ============== I have tried editing the qmail-scanner-queue-version.txt file to something shorter, say "hbedv: Antivir Pattern6.14.00.15." but this breaks qmail-scanner and places everything after .Clear in the body of the message. I have tried modifying the $versionfile variable in qmail-scanner-queue.pl to "" but that just breaks qmail-scanner. Qmail-scanner does not process any messages. If I set the my $versionfile variable to "/dev/null" everything seems to work fine. Messages are processed, and the test_installation.sh messages are processed correctly. So what should I do? Where is the contents of the qmail-scanner-queue-version.txt file generated from? Should I modify that file and reinstall qmail-scanner? Can I modify the qmail-scanner-queue-version.txt file directly, if so what is the trick? Or should I just set the $versionfile variable to "/dev/null"? My setup OpenBSD 3.1 qmail 1.03 patched with tls, mfscheck, and of course QMAILQUEUE qmail-scanner-1.13 H+BEDV's antivir scanner: OpenBSD Version 2.0.3 Thanks you for the help!
