Blocking attachments has more use than just satisifying company policies but
gives you defense against new virus outbreaks before your antivirus vendor
knows about them. In that case I do not feel comfortable with just using an
antivirus scanner alone to defend against viruses. For maximum protection
you must use both. It would be nice to have the ability to run the AV
scanner first to determine what type of virus that it is instead of just
"illegal attachment". It is just an informational need but would be nice.
