Details are as follows:

1. Hardware
  - 2 x 2U Intel Barberra Dual PIII-450 Mhz with 1GB RAM.
  - Internal 18GB SCSI for queue and mail store on NFS mount.
  - Alteon Ace Director 3 L4 load balancing switch.

2. Software
  - Qmail 1.03 + LDAP
  - RedHat 6.2
  - Trophie 1.11 + qmail-scanner-1.12
  - CORBA & other management software.

3. Workload (over both servers)
  - 5 minute average (office hours) = 2020 messages, 410Kb/sec
           (after hours + weekends) = 610 messages, 96Kb/sec
  - qmail-scanner (friday afternoon) = 1000 virii per hour!!!!
                (Saturday + Sunday ) = 407 per hour.

Monday mornings at 8AM sharp the mail servers go bezerk. I think
everybody is at work and clicks "send & receive" at the same time, so
this will be a good test for the load on Monday morning. :-) The amount
of viruses per hour dropped over this weekend as most people at work
turn off their PC's.

On Tuesday I will be upgrading the mail servers to 4 Dell PowerEdge
1550's which are Dual 1Ghz + 1GB RAM 1U servers. This will give me quite
a considerable increase in horsepower so I will be turning on Spam
Assassin as well. I will let you all know the stats as they become
available.
