Hi Garry fox, That case sounds to me that you should file a ticket with VMWare, not with QGIS. Obviously the upgrade of VMWare introduced your issue.
Also: do you just get an OpenGL error message or is QGIS failing to work inside the new VMWare? Are you using anything OpenGL related inside QGIS?
