Hi Grant,
You need to hit the "Show advanced parameters" button and the "Additional
creation options" will appear. You then will have to add the "creation option"
(-co) values, separating them with a "|" (pipe I think it's called) so to add
JPEG Compression you would have, without quotes,
"COMPRESS=JPEG|JPEG_QUALITY=75", By default JPEG quality is at 75% so if you
are leaving it at default, then you don't need the quality -co, but I added it
there for completeness, this can be set to any value between 1 and 100
I hope that helps.
Kind Regards,

Richard.

Hi Richard,

I can choose the JPEG compression if I use the save as option on a layer, but
the jpeg option is not available when I run "save raster as" (gdal translate)
in the graphical modeller.

Not sure why this option is not available.

Cheers Grant

Hi Grant,
It would depend on the last process your using to save out the raster.
If you use something like GDAL Translate or GDAL Warp and ar writing out
GeoTiff, you can specify the "Tiff Tags" in the Creative Options, called
"Advanced Parameters".
You can use JPEG compression by selecting the "JPEG Compression" Profile. The
jpeg quality value can be increased or decreased as you require.
I hope that helps!
Kind Regards,

Richard.

Subject: [Qgis-user] Geotiff JPEG compression in Graphical Modeller

I am creating RGB images with Sentinel 2 imagery using the graphical modeller
and would like to use JPEG compression which reduces the image size
substantially. The image files are "Float32 - Thirty two bit floating point"
images. When I look at the compression options when saving the raster image in
the graphical modeller, I do not get a JPEG compression option. The JPEG
compression option is available if I click on the layer in the layers panel and
"Save Raster As" under the Create Options. Any thoughts on why I can't select
this in the graphical modeller options?
Cheers Grant
