A geopackafge is a sqlite container so you got your database right there. This sounds like a problem I had with a Netcdf I got from NASA. I tried to load it and my RAM usage shit up to 90%, shutting down was the only way to solve. Never figured why that particular file did that. Sure, it was a 500mb file, but I can open a tif of that size without that type of memory use. Andrew French
