Hi Marco,

thanx for your reply.

As I'm currently already in the field (without QField), so I'm short on
time to give it another try. But will hopefully test it soon.

I will try to compile a list of things I do not quite understand/which
could be a bit better explained.

Thanks,

Bernd

Hi Bernd,

yes that is indeed the correct documentation, I updated all the images
since there ad been an error in publishing.

We currently have an build error in the doc, wich we're fixing.
Meanwhile you can see the updated text [0] and screenshots [2] on
github. Or have a look at the original issue which has documentation as
well.

can you check if all works well now?

cheers

Marco

Hi,
for a long time I wish to use QField .. in the field, but as I do not
manage to set up a reliably working configuration, I still have to use
Locus all the time when I need to take notes in the field.

As the ability to take linked photos is crucial for me, I gave it
another try and tried to follow the instructions on the website.
https://qfield.org/docs/project-management/add-1-n-pictures.html

Can anyone confirm that it is possible to take linked pictures following
these docs? I have the feeling that there are missing some important
steps or settings or other infos.

Tried now for 2 days and will soon give up again for the next 2 years.

I think it would be much easier if there would be a tiny downloadable
example project , so I could cross-check the settings and configurations.

Anyway, grateful for any kind of input,
Bernd

Good evening MacKinnon's,
although being rather familiar with GIS, I don't Know yet GeoPDF. Tried to
load your USGS download file in QGIS 3.12.0 on Win 10. Had also trouble,
although I didn't got an error message. But the CPU of my system reached
it's limit for a felt eternity without coming further and I had to stop QGIS
rather violently. Seems to be something strange with the USGS GeoPDF.

Regards, Christine

load.  Error message is "Invalid Data Source"  Also of note is that the
new map is much larger than earlier versions. 40mg vs 15-20mg.  Is this an
intentional change by USGS or an error formatting the file.

Map sheet in question is MI_Garden_20191218_TM_geo.pdf

Hi,

If the cpu Is running and you have a PDF on the desktop, remove the PDF from
the desktop. There is an old Windows bug that does that. No link to QGIS if
that is the case.

Ça va bien aller!
