Or (do I miss this in the post Nyall?) try to attract attention to your issue by posting to the dev list and in this way attract other interested users or devs to check out your findings, which then try to reproduce your issue to give it more 'weight' or so... I'm often interested in wms/wfs related stuff.. so... I fiddles with your setup and added info to the issue: https://hub.qgis.org/issues/16180 Please respond to that.
