Hi,
you can use the Digitizing Tools Plugin "Cut with polygon from another
layer" tool to achieve this. Load the layer twice into QGIS one is for
editing, the other to cut with.
Backup your data until you know how the tool works.

What do you mean with "splitting"?
Do you mean perform difference? E.g. make polygon id=1 become a
polygon with a hole defined by polygon with id=2?
Or do you mean splitting into several layers?

There is a feature that allows you to split each polygon based
on the remaining polygons, using the field ID?
In this case, for several reason, I cannot use "Delete ring"
