Andrea has been active in QGIS c++ development for the last 5 years, and has a fantastic track record of contributions. Their contributions demonstrate all the qualities we need for core contributors -- attention to detail, careful consideration of the ramifications of changes, and a very clear dedication to making QGIS a better experience for end users.
