I tried this series with a Linux/m68k guest but network activity hanged the emulator. The cause of the problem is somewhere in this patch. BTW, I've become suspicious of the word "rewrite". In this case I think it describes a commit that is attempting to do too much and needs to be split up to make it easier to review (and debug).
