I'm not sure what Solaris does here, so I frankly have no idea if this is supposed to work. IDE and AHCI are different interfaces, so there's a good chance it simply doesn't work. How about real hardware? Can you take an openSolaris installation, install it using ICH in IDE mode, switch to AHCI mode and it works? Alex
