the CVS repository to git, and I'm all for it if it makes users and

AFAIK, It supports SMBIOSv3 already.

Yes it does in CVS (not in 2.12 which is the latest release.) I plan to
release dmidecode 3.0 "soon" (but that is in a few months given my
current workload.)
