It doesn't matter for > cirrus, but it will matter with more powerful vgpus. I just wanted to pipe in to simply say that I am (sort of) concerned about this (unless I am misunderstanding things). I had intended to look further into getting 3D acceleration into qemu, especially for legacy Win98. I was thinking of basing it on Radeon R300-R500.
