If you have 2 VMs using tap network interfaces on a Linux software bridge, then packets will be passed between the tap interfaces. Packets will not go onto the host's physical interface (e.g. eth0). This is regular Ethernet bridge behavior: the bridge decides on which port(s) to forward the packet based on its MAC address to port mapping. Stefan
