Hi!

It so happened that current schedule for debian and qemu clashes with
each other in a fun way. 2025-04-15 is the date planned for qemu 10.0
release (if no rc4 is needed), and is it the date of debian 13.0 trixe
freeze.

Can we move the qemu release date a little bit earlier, so I'll have
a chance to upload qemu 10.0 to debian trixie?

The "prob" here is the removal of 64-on-32 architectures in 10.0, which
is definitely a good change, but in debian it is a bit more challenging
since others expect all qemu emulators are freely available on every
architecture, and there might be some issues in this area on the debian
side. I'm trying to reflect this removal now with 9.2 packages, to have
more time when 10.0 is released.

At the same time, due to code simplification after 64-on-32 removal,
further fixes will be difficult to back-port to releases before 10.0, so
I'd rather avoid supporting such a release in debian for long (2+ years).

It'd be really nice if we release 10.0 a week earlier :)

Thanks,

/mjt
