Hi all, The GIST Lab has now closed, so huge thanks for all they've done for the Python Sheffield group. For the next six months the Python Sheffield group will be meeting in Conference Room 2 of the Workstation, which is next to the GIST Lab, behind the Showroom cinema and opposite Sheffield train station. Note the earlier start and end times
This month we have the following two speakers: Daley Chetwynd (@dchetwynd)- Comparison of Python web templating engines Thomas Kluyver (@takluyver)- Making Python Run Fast The description for Thomas' talk is: "For years, Python developers have traded the execution speed of a statically compiled language for the development speed of an interpreted one. Now there are several projects aiming to give us the best of both worlds. We'll look at the advantages of different options, like PyPy, Cython and Numba." If you'd like to join us for this event then please register for free at: https://plus.google.com/u/0/events/cp3q7fnqbf40doavj2aoaets378 The Python Sheffield group is open to all levels of Python user, including those who don't currently know the language but would like to learn. We're always looking for future speakers, so if you'd like to talk on anything Python-related and fancy a trip over to Sheffield, please get in touch.
