Hi Aurelien, you could then just RFA or orphan the package; in this case I would take over, move it to the astronomy team and maintain it on low-level like I do with pywcs. Erik Bray mentioned that he eventually will create a "final" version that just depends on astropy; this would make the final solution simpler.
