It worked for me. I'm not sure about the state of my wheezy chroot, it might contain a few wheezy-backport bits, but I consider that OK.
Considering that 1.5.x saw 5 upstream security fixes since 1.5.2 (according to https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/1.5/releases/security/#september-10-2013-cve-2013-4315, 1.5.2 includes the fix from August 13, 2013) it would be great to do something about this.
