Package: python-multiprocessing
Severity: important

Please add "Provides: python-processing" to the package metadata. sagemath is
otherwise uninstallable, since python-processing is no longer in the Debian
repositories, and the former's package maintainer seems inactive.

no: python-multiprocessing provides a different module namespace,
'multiprocessing' and not 'processing', so they are not "exchangable"
hence I can't add the Provides you're asking.

sagemath needs to be ported to multiprocessing, and I've reported
#535357 more than 6 months ago.

processing has been superseded by multiprocessing and tools requiring
the former need to be ported to the latter, since in Debian we
maintain only multiprocessing.
