Marcelo, thank you very much for your help!!! The script is running nicely now and I can pass the variables easily between the scripts.
If someone else followed this topic ... a short note at the end. It seems that with the 'globvars' also the modules used by 'second.py' have to be passed. Somehow the modules defined in 'second.py' itself are not available when 'second.py' is called from an external script.
