def unzip(seq):
return zip(*seq)
Faster and nicer, isn't it?
Except that it returns a list of tuples:
>>>unzip(zip(range(5), 'abcde'))
[(0, 1, 2, 3, 4), ('a', 'b', 'c', 'd', 'e')]
