just adding a comment to the documentation that win32 also covers win64 would be a help IMO. for those who are using the startswith syntax and checking for "win" alone then you could change the string returned to "win32-win64" or some other string with the prefix "win" and it would still work with no changes needed. songbird -- https://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/python-list
