I know... but it is a bugger to set up and I believe it is no longer freeware (if it ever was), and it does not have the stark simplicity which screen has... I only need to have a compiled version of screen on the machine on which I do most of my work and be able to ssh/telnet to that machine without involving any additional software installations on other machines.
