The mailing list info page doesn't mention anything specific about asking for help: https://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/python-list People do routinely ask for help here though. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that you should make sure that you try to find the answer using your search engine of choice before bringing the question here. Your question may be a very common one and you might be able to find the answer more quickly on, say, stack overflow. All that said, welcome to the list!
