I don't collaborate with other people. However I still use git for my little projects. Really, it's not that hard, and the benefits even to a sole programmer are enormous. Delete a bunch of code only to find out later you really want to revisit it? Just revert to an earlier commit. Coming back to a project after a few weeks away and can't remember where I was at? Review the commit logs, check the latest diff to see what I was working on.
