logging.basicConfig(level=logging.DEBUG)
now simply add logger.debug('debug message')
wherever needed instead of print statements
alternatively
import logging
logger=logging.getLogger()
logging.basicConfig(filename='logfile',level=logging.DEBUG)
if you would prefer to log to a file instead.
