I'm making that claim.  Guido's arguments are based on a simple lexical 
definition of the language.  If the lexical definition were sophisticated 
enough to feed into GCC as a front-end, for example, then it wouldn't have to 
be so abnormal.  It's a short-cut for a less mature language.
