anybody know why "edit-and-execute-command" doesn't work in python's readline?
it doesn't even show up in a dump of readline functions:
$ cat fc_test
C-p: dump-functions
C-e: edit-and-execute-command
$
$ python
Python 2.4 (#1, Jan 14 2005, 14:29:23)

if you hit control p, and you won't see 'edit-and-execute-command'
