This is a Usenet group and a mailing list, not a web forum. You do not need to dig up a dozen ancient threads in order to advertise your wares. And by the way, it's courteous to be up-front about (1) your connection with what you're recommending, and (2) the fact that it's a pay-for book. One post, in a thread of its own, announcing the release of the book, would be appropriate and on-topic.
