Also, it is irrelevant ... Gnome3 doesn't use PyGTK, you want PyGIO (for example https://live.gnome.org/PyGObject/IntrospectionPorting and other links to PyGIO). Hint: if you install gobject-introsepction-devel (or whatever is the name of the package in your distro), you will get in devhelp quite a nice documentation, and also a lot of stuff to read in / usr/share/gir-*/.
