Probably not--IDLE is good enough for my needs. I've submitted some (rather extensive) patches for things that annoyed me and got in my way, and they eventually made it in. (The classic open source pathway--scratching my own itch.) Beyond that, though, hacking on IDLE isn't a project I have time for.
