You can get the contents of a directory with os.listdir and filter
with fnmatch.fnmatch more or less as in the example from the
documentation:
---------------------
import fnmatch
import os
for file in os.listdir('.'):
if fnmatch.fnmatch(file, '*.txt'):
print file
---------------------
