Python 3 is, by design, not 100% backwards compatible with Python 2. Not that I'm completely happy with everything in Python 3 but, in it's defense, discussion of Python 3 has been ongoing for years, almost as long as the existence of Python 2. So the discussion of what went into Python 3 is so old, it's pretty much moot to start talking about it now. Things change and we learn to adapt and evolve. Or we don't.
