Not necessarily. Conflating concepts like "string containing whitespace", "string containing space(s)", "empty aka 0-length string", None, (ASCII) NUL, and (SQL) NULL appears to be an age- independent problem :-) -- http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/python-list
