Obviously, you didn't try Eclipse with PyDev (<http://www.pydev.org>) and Mercurial Eclipse (<http://www.vectrace.com/mercurialeclipse/>) plugins. This combination is also available stuffed into one package as 'EasyEclipse for Python' (<http://www.easyeclipse.org>).
