I installed python 2.3.4 on my system with configure/make/make altinstall in order to preserve the original python installation of RHEL3.
I have the following error entering these few python lines :
Python 2.3.4 (#3, Apr 26 2005, 14:48:36)

bsddb._db.DBError: (38, 'Function not implemented -- DB_ENV->dbremove: method not permitted before open')
And typing it again I get :

If I did it with the standard Python 2.2.3 it works perfectly . The problem is I need Python 2.3.4 on my system...
Could you give me any advice ?
Thank you
