Why are *you* the one that his notion is incorrect? Why isn't he the one that has to prove *you* incorrect? Put forth the Wikipedia article, and then the ball is in his court to disprove the arguments therein with a more authoritative source. (At least this is my understanding of the common rules of debate.)
