What are the pro and con's for such an implementation to actually
program a 3d game (engine)??

I started off a while ago in c++ to play around a bit with directx
opengl and cg but I'd rather like to program in a language such as
python...

PyGame doesn't meet my need's because i'd like to take adantage of the
much faster directx technology.

Any comments, hints?

Panda3D might be what you're looking for. http://panda3d.etc.cmu.edu. It's an open-source 3D engine. Python is the main language used to program the games. While you can use C++ or other languages, they aren't as well supported.
