Hi, I read that python 3k is now in its final beta version. I was wondering when we can expect the major packages to make a 3.0 branch.
I am myself quite new to python, and would like to make the transition as soon as possible, simply because it would save me porting code later, and I can focus on learning just the python 3.0. However, I am a former Matlab user and depend on packages like numpy, scipy, matplotlib. wxPython I use as well. So to get to the point: When can we expect these (and other) packages to release their python 3k versions? And when will the majority of people make the transition to py3k? I am looking forward to your thoughts on this, Almar
