mxODBC comes with a cursor.columns() method which allows you to query column names and many other column specific details of the database. See the documentation for details: http://www.egenix.com/products/python/mxODBC/#Documentation If you just want to access the result set columns by name, you can use the cursor.description tuple to map names to positions. Please also see the FAQ of the DB API spec reagrding the issues involved with this approach: http://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0249/ -- Marc-Andre Lemburg eGenix.com Professional Python Services directly from the Source >>> Python/Zope Consulting and Support ... http://www.egenix.com/ >>> mxODBC.Zope.Database.Adapter ... http://zope.egenix.com/ >>> mxODBC, mxDateTime, mxTextTools ... http://python.egenix.com/ ________________________________________________________________________ 2008-07-07: EuroPython 2008, Vilnius, Lithuania :::: Try mxODBC.Zope.DA for Windows,Linux,Solaris,MacOSX for free ! :::: eGenix.com Software, Skills and Services GmbH Pastor-Loeh-Str.48 D-40764 Langenfeld, Germany.
