There are no mysteries about Linux vs. laptop hardware, although lightly-informed pontification on the subject fuels sites like OSNews. With secretive hardware vendors unwilling to tell people how their devices work, yet unwilling to write Linux drivers themselves, it's up to the community to make educated guesses about things like power management and the various mobile chipsets.
