The reason I tried to do this: Cygwin python lacks _winreg, but I wanted to SSH into Cygwin to run this script. I suppose the folks who know what they are doing probably stick to wscript and WMI for this sort of stuff. Ben -- http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/python-list
