This is probably a *really* stupid question but... I have looked at all the documentation I have for 2.4.3 and all the docs I can download for 2.5 and I simply cannot find anything, anywhere that documents what egg files are.
I have read posts referring to them and have been able to deduce that they are some form of zip file for the distribution of modules but beyond that I cannot find *any* docs for them anywhere.
