Yeah, I've decided to stay out of the statutory employee role myself -- and my resume looks fine. Or at least it looks good up until the time I made that decision ;-) I'm doing just fine with freelance work. I work when I want and I don't have to deal with people who think they can judge my ability to accomplish a goal by asking "how much X do you have?"
