l_r = select.select([sys.stdin],[],[],0)

gives me:
  File "select.py", line 2, in ?
    import select
  File "/home/philippe/Desktop/select.py", line 4, in ?
    l_r = select.select([sys.stdin],[],[],0)
TypeError: 'module' object is not callable
