Your system is misconfigured, complain to your distribution. On UNIX sys.getfilesystemencoding(), sys.stdin.encoding, sys.stdout.encoding, locale.getprefferedencoding and the encoding of the characters you type should be the same. -- http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/python-list
